2022 ASL Class Christmas Party

Dec 2nd was the Conway Christmas Tree lighting. For the first time deaf residents were provided an interpreter, allowing us to join in on the celebrations. Special thanks to Rev. Gary who was instrumental in getting the city to recognize the need. I believe the City was very happy to see us enjoying the program Thanks to the professionalism of our interpreter for the evening, Kirsten Sallings the Mayor was truly thrilled. I anticipate this will be something provided from here on out.

Throughout the holiday season our Hands for Christ Choir members have been signing a song each Sunday. Sunday Dec 12, during the Thrill of Hope program we signed "O Holy Night" while the Choir sang it.  Ver beautiful job! Thanks to all their hard work. 

That evening we had a large group of deaf visitors come to MBC for the Lessons in Carols program. I interpreted the narratives and the songs so they could totally participate in the lessons, the worship, the excitement, as well as sing along with the songs. It was glorious to look out into the pews and see hand signing everywhere hearing and deaf worshiping the Lord together!  Word is, the visitors truly enjoyed it! 

Following the program we all traversed yonder over to the new fellowship hall and enjoyed wonderful  food while socializing. Several deaf visitors were interested in joining Bible study at MBC. We hope to see some of them at future Sunday services as well.  Our deaf outreach and family is growing!
